Cervelo R5CX Frameset

This isn't Cervelo's first foray into the world of cyclocross bikes. Back in 2007, they crafted two R3 Cross frames for Jonathan Page, one of which propelled him to become the first American on a World Cup podium.

Like its predecessor, the R5-CX draws inspiration from the R5, but with key distinctions. The handling and fit are unique to this model, shaped by the feedback of professional cyclocross racers Wout van Aert and Marianne Vos. While retaining the asymmetric cups of BBRight, they've opted for a threaded T47 bottom bracket shell – a unique implementation utilizing standard T47 components.

The Ultimate CX Frame

The D-shaped seatpost, equipped with double clamps, not only enhances compliance but also addresses a specific request from Wout and Marianne to prevent saddle rotation in the event of a crash. Internal cable routing keeps things clean, and compatibility is limited to electronic drivetrains to minimize grit and water intrusion. Ample tire clearance ensures mud won't be an issue.
